Guwahati: The Kamrup (M) District & Sessions Judge court on Thursday has put a stay order on the release of an upcoming Assamese movie ‘Sri Raghupati’ in Assam.

The stay order was put by the court over the allegations of breach of contract with former producer Sailen Kumar Sarma.

Sarma’s son Dhritiman Sarma allegedly filed a case in the court alleging breach of contract.

The Metropolitan Magistrates Court ordered the postponement of the distribution of the film ‘Sri Raghupati’ after hearing the case, according to reports.

The film ‘Sri Raghupati,’ starring Ravi Sarma, was scheduled for release on June 2.

Preety Kongana, Priyam Pallavi, Siddhartha Sarma, Arun Nath, and Arun Hazarika are among the cast members.

The movie ‘Sri Raghupati’ revolves around Raghupati Rai Baruah, an ACS officer known for his sincerity and diligence, who sets forth on an impetuous journey of rescuing missing women. During the investigation, he uncovers a women trafficking racket, which further leads to complicated situations.
