    COVID-19: Assam crosses 90k-mark with 1,272 new cases; death toll 242

    Assam recorded 1272 new cases on Sunday, and has discharged over 3,000 patients with no COVID related death reported till now

    GUWAHATI: Assam reported 1,272 new cases and 19,595 COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday out of 18,435 tests conducted in last 24 hours, reaching a cumulative figure of 90,740 reported cases. With recovery rate at 78.14% and death rate at 0.27%, Assam’s positivity rate stands at 6.89%.

    Of the new cases, 280 are from Kamrup (M) and 134 from Cachar.

    State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma updated in his twitter handle, he wrote “Alert ~ 1272 #COVID cases detected today out of 18435 tests done in last 24 hours.

    Positivity Rate – 6.89%

    Kamrup M – 280; Cachar – 134

    Total cases 90740

    Recovered 67641

    Active cases 22854

    Deaths 242”

    To combat the rising curve of COVID19 cases in Guwahati the government of Assam has set up 31 COVID19 Counseling Centers (CCC) in each and every ward under Guwahati Municipal Corporation.

    In India so far total 30,44,940 confirmed cases with 56,706 deaths have been reported.
