    COVID-19: Assam reports 2,409 cases in last 24 hours

    The total number of cases in state has gone up to 1,46,575, among which 1,16,900 are discharged cases, 29,180 active cases and 3 migrated to other states

    GUWAHATI: Assam recorded 2,409 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday out of 32,770 tests done in last 24 hours.

    Out of the new cases, 633 are reported from Kamrup (M), 201 are from Dibrugarh, 172 from Jorhat and 120 from Lakhimpur among others.

     With this, the total number of cases in state has gone up to 1,46,575, among which 1,16,900 are discharged cases, 29,180 active cases and 3 migrated to other states.

    10 more deaths have been reported in the state taking the death toll to 492. Assam’s positivity rate now stands at 7.35%

    Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took twitter to inform about the deaths. He wrote: “Very sad and anguished to inform that 10 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease.

    My condolences to the bereaved families! Om Shanti”.
