Guwahati: After Assam saw a surge in COVID-19 cases, the health department has decided to intensify the vaccination drive by doubling the number of session sites in the state.
According to the TOI report, from Tuesday, another 1,500 centers will be operational – all in health and wellness centers – taking vaccination drives to the remotest and far-flung areas of the state.
Reportedly, a mega vaccination drive has been planned on Tuesday with a target to inoculate 1.5 lakh people. For that, 1.500 out of 4,000 health and wellness centers have been added as new session sites.
Meanwhile, 25 fresh COVID-19 cases were registered on Sunday out of 7,404 tests conducted in the state. The number of active case counts reached 316.
