    Covid-19 deaths in Assam hit a century

    After the announcement of three fresh Covid-19 deaths on Saturday by state’s health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the total number of deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic has reached altogether 101 so far.

    GUWAHATI: After the devastating flood, in which 109 individuals died till Friday, the pandemic Covid-19 too had taken 101 human lives in the state till Saturday evening.

    After the announcement of three fresh Covid-19 deaths on Saturday by state’s health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the total number of deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic has reached altogether 101 so far.  

    According to Sarma, till Friday, Assam recorded 40,269 number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state out of which 29,080 number of patients were discharged from various hospitals while 11088 were still found to be active. However, 98 persons had already died due to the Covid-19.

    Three persons, who died on Saturday were – Late Morning Pohleng (40), Late Lila Paul (70) of Cachar and Late Hiramoni Thakur (68) of Golaghat.

    Health Minister Sarma also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
