COVID-19 relaxations to be announced district-wise from June 15: Assam CM
Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced that COVID-19 relaxations will be given from June 15 in the state district-wise.
The chief minister stated this while inaugurating a 300-bed COVID Care hospital at Sarusajai. The hospital is expected to act as an annex to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The minister said that the hospital will have a span of five years, which can be further extended. The hospital will have a facility of 100 ICU beds as well. This new facility shall ease strain on hospitals.
The hospital is equipped with a liquid oxygen tank to ensure a continuous supply of oxygen to patients. It would be refilled weekly.
On the other hand, with the starting of the new hospital, COVID-19 treatment at MMCH and Singimari hospital will stop.
