Guwahati: To restrict the spread of Coronavirus, the Dhubri district administration on Friday has imposed restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPC across the district.
In an order, Dhubri district deputy commissioner has made compulsory to wear face masks by all individuals in public places, to practice social distancing of at least two meters and to frequently use sanitisers.
The order also stated that the section 144 has been imposed in the district by keeping in view the spread of COVID-19 virus during the Assam Assembly Elections.
Earlier, Section 144 was clamped in Sivasagar, Haildakandi and some parts of Biswanath in the state as well.
Assam’s COVID tally surged to 2,19,272 on Thursday as 245 more people tested positive for the infection. Moreover, one new fatality has pushed the death toll to 1,112.
The state currently has 1,023 active cases while, 2,15,790 people have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, a total of 11,80,792 people have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine across the state and 2,23,047 people have got the second dose.
