    COVID-19 toll in Assam Police reaches 95

    The police arrested 12 persons and detain 50 vehicles on Thursday for violating lockdown norms

    Guwahati: At least 95 Assam Police personnel have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)  as on Thursday.

    Additional Director General of Police, Assam GP Singh in a tweet said that 95 personnel tested Covid positive out of which 19 have recovered. There are around  1112 personnel in quarantine and all are in good health.

    While these frontline workers turned out positive, the total number of persons arrested in connection with Lockdown Violation in Guwahati city was 12 on Thursday while Rs 9,500 fine was realized on persons for not wearing masks.

    The police also detained 23 two-wheelers, 27 four-wheelers while fines realized was Rs 43,000

    Further, the police have launched four phone numbers where citizens can report the lockdown violations through WhatsApp.
