A relative of a sanitation worker at the Rashtrapati Bhavan has tested positive for the high contagious novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Though she isn’t an employee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, she lives in the complex.

As per reports, at least 125 families living near Gate No 70 have been asked to remain in self-isolation following the incident, as per the guidelines of the Union Health Ministry. Also, 25 houses within the same block have been kept under strict quarantine.

The worker’s daughter-in-law’s mother had died of COVID-19 in her village recently and all the family members had attended her funeral.

The sanitization worker’s daughter-in-law has also tested positive on April 20th, 2020. However, the rest of the family members tested negative for COVID-19, that has claimed over 550 lives in India so far.

The sanitization worker and the rest of the family members have been sent to an isolation ward in a government hospital.
