Guwahati: Amid the rising cases of COVID-19 in Meghalaya, the state government on Wednesday imposed more restrictions in the region.
In view of the rising COVID 19 cases in the Shillong agglomeration, Govt. has decided to make certain restrictions in East Khasi Hills.
Gyms, Swimming Pools, Gaming Parlours, Cinemas, Clubs, Salons, Bars will be shut from April 23 to 30, 2021.
Government offices will operate with 33% strength.
Colleges and Universities in Shillong shall remain closed up to May 3, 2021 except colleges that are exam centres.
Non Essential Shops will be closed from April 26 to May 2, 2021.
RT-PCR test mandatory in entry points for entrants from April 23.
Tourist Spots in the district will be shut till 30th April 2021.
As on April 21, the state of Meghalaya recorded around 192 positive cases for the viral infection, taking the number of active cases up to 1021.
The state also recorded new 25 recovered cases taking the total number of such cases to 14130. The recovery rate stands at 92.30 percent.
Of the 1021 active cases, 746 are in East Khasi Hills district, 116 in West Jaintia Hills, 85 in Ri-Bhoi, 25 in West Khasi Hills, 22 in East Jaintia Hills, 18 in West Garo Hills, 07 in South West Khasi Hills and 01 each in East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills.
