    COVID scare: Odd-Even Car Formula to begin in Assam from tomorrow

    This restriction will not be applicable in respect of Government vehicles/water tankers/milk carrying vans, ambulances, LPG distribution vans, vehicles hired/private used for medical duty/COVID-19 duty

    Guwahati: Odd-Even Car Formula to begin in Assam from tomorrow – In view of the significant increase of COVID-19 positive cases in Kamrup Metro district, the district disaster management authority under govt of Assam has come up following restrictions in regards to plying of private/personal vehicles from 5 am to 2 pm from May 13, 2021

    Vehicles with odd numbers will be allowed to ply on odd dates. (Example: Vehicle number ending with 1/3/5/7/9 on May 13/15/17/19/21/23/25, 2021 etc)

    Similarly, vehicles with even numbers will be allowed to ply on even dates. (Example: Vehicle number ending with 0/2/4/6/8 on May 14/16/18/20/22/24/26, 2021 etc).

    However, this restriction will not be applicable in respect of Government vehicles/water tankers/milk carrying vans, ambulances, LPG distribution vans, vehicles hired/private used for medical duty/COVID-19 duty on production of valid ID proof, and personal vehicles used for a medical emergency.

    Further, this restriction will also not be applicable for the vehicles plying in National Highways.

    It is to be noted that as per the fresh SOP by the Government of Assam, all vehicles other than government vehicles across the state will be allowed to ply in accordance with an odd-even formula to be decided by the jurisdictional district disaster management authority between 5 am to 2 pm. However, this restriction shall not apply to personal vehicles used for medical emergencies.
