Guwahati: Assam logged two new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, with a case positivity rate of 4.76 percent, said Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Sunday.
As per Health Minister, a total of 42 coronavirus samples were tested. The two cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (M) district.
However, no fatalities have been reported yet.

Earlier, Keshab Mahanta expressed confidence that the state was fully prepared to deal with any public health emergency arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. “As of now, there is no standard operating procedure in the state with regard to the pandemic but the government was abiding by the guidelines issued by the central government,”
Meanwhile, covid-19 infections continued to witness a spike in India on Monday, as the country recorded 1,805 fresh coronavirus cases. With the addition of new cases, the active tally crossed 10,000 cases.
The daily positivity rate stands at 3.19 percent. According to the Union Health Ministry, four Covid-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, one each from Chandigarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
“220.65 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive and 56,551 corona tests were conducted in the last 24 hours”, according to the ministry’s website.
