COVID Third Wave: Cotton University returns to online mode of education
Guwahati: In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state, all UG and PG classes including BA liberal arts under Cotton University will be held online with immediate effect till January 31, 2022.
All honours and PG classes will be scheduled from 9 am to 12 noon. The respective HoDs will finalize the Departmental routine. BA Liberal Arts will continue to follow the existing class routine in online mode.
UG general elective classes are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to 3 pm. UG and PG SEC classes are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 pm to 3 pm. UG AECC classes are scheduled from 3 pm to 4 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
UG 5th semester Endsem examinations will be held offline as per the already published schedule.
Hostels will be open only for UG 5th semester examinees.
Examinees of MNDP and SNBC hotels will be provided alternative accommodation in other hostels during the examination.
In case examinees from outside Guwahati who are not hostel boarders fail to arrange accommodation due to COVID-19 issues they may submit an application to the Director Students’ Welfare through the respective guardians and the heads of the department requesting temporary hostel accommodation.
Students who are given temporary accommodation will have to arrange their own beddings. For the 5th semester students’ who are hospitalized or confined in home isolation during the examination days due to COVID-19, a separate offline examination will be conducted at a suitable time.
Already notified Midsem examinations of UG honours, BA liberal arts and PG classes will be held as scheduled but in online mode.
Practical classes and examinations are suspended till January 31.
HS 1st year unit test will be held as per notified schedule but in online mode. After the unit test once offline classes begin, HS 1st year practical will begin and they will follow HS 2nd year class routine.
Faculty and Staff should produce double vaccination certificates. Government SOP will be strictly followed in case of those not fully vaccinated. Whereas, vaccinated research scholars are allowed to continue their research activity in the respective departments.
Furthermore, the faculty members are being directed to continue regular attendance in respective departments and will report to allotted examination duty.
