GUWAHATI: Covid-19 vaccination has started at three new centres of Kamrup Metro from Friday.
The vaccination drive was started at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital(MMCH), Down Town Hospital and CRPF Composite Hospital at Amerigog, 9 Mile.
MMCH additional superintendent Dr. Anupal Kr. Sharma was the first to get vaccinated followed by Dr Mridul Das and Dr Gautam Sharma.
National Health Mission OSD Pomi Baruah and WHO representative Dr. Arup Deka monitored the drive.
At Down Town Hospital, Dr Udayan Barua, Jyotishman Dutta, Mayurakshi Dutta and Dr Indra Kuladhipati were administered the vaccine first.
Dr. Anurag, Dr Shailendra, Dr SKL Bhagat and Dr Jitendra took the first vaccines at the CRPF hospital.
District immunisation Officer Bhabendra Kr Das and WHO representative Bijit Gogoi monitored the drive at these two centres.
On the first day, 79 out of targeted 100 health workers of MMCH were vaccinated while at Down Town, 100 out of 100 were administered the vaccine. At the CRPF hospital, 59 out of targeted 100 were vaccinated on Friday.
Earlier, the vaccination drive was launched at Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Sonapur District Hospital and Marwari Hospital on January 16.
