    CRPF Jawan From Assam Tests Positive For COVID-19 In Delhi

    The jawan is currently quarantined and is being treated in Delhi

    A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan from Assam’s Baksa has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Delhi.

    The jawan has been identified as Azahar Ali of Baksa’s Samranguri who is posted in Delhi’s Mayur Bihar.

    He joined the CRPF in 2004 and has been posted in several places since then. Azahar has a wife and two children in Baksa. He has been quarantined in Delhi and is being treated.

    Earlier another person named Ankur Nath belonging to Baksa was tested positive on April 24.

    People are worried following these reports and are trying to maintain precautions related to the virus.

    With Azahar several other from his battalion have been tested positive for the virus and the government is taking all measures to check the source and stop the contamination of the virus.

    Earlier A 55-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from Assam died due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

    It has been reported that the personnel is a sub-inspector (SI) rank official and belongs to Barpeta in Assam. He was admitted at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after he was detected positive of the virus.

    The jawan was serving at the 31st battalion of the force which is based in Delhi. He is the first reported death among the 10 lakh personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) or the paramilitary forces.
