“Dark Age Of Congress Should Not Return”: PM Modi Asks Manipur To Vote For Future

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the people of the state of Manipur to decide the fate of the state in the next 25 years by uprooting the Congress and giving BJP one more chance this poll.

He said that the ‘double engine’ government of BJP can give the utmost security, stability and a bright future to the state of Manipur.

Addressing a public rally in Imphal on Tuesday, the PM said, “The ‘dark age’ of bandh and blockades during the Congress regime was successfully stopped by the incumbent BJP government in the last five years. These polls will decide next 25 years of Manipur. BJP has successfully instilled peace in the state and would work to make it permanent.”

He added that the BJP government has already put the state in the track of development during its last tenure and an extension would only bring more prosperity.

“Last month, Manipur completed 50 years of its formation. During this period, the state witnessed several governments and their works. Congress never worked on developing. But it’s BJP which has worked on improving the connectivity, transport and improving commoner’s lives in Manipur. The state will become an important centre for East Asia connectivity after the highway connecting Myanmar-Thailand is completed,” Modi said.

Earlier on Monday, Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi too addressed a public rally in Imphal in Manipur and promised of protecting Manipur’s rich diversity, culture and ethnicity.

Meanwhile, banned outfit of People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak has claimed responsibility for an IED blast that occurred on Sunday injuring at least two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel were injured.
