Shillong, October 9: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the state is battling financial crisis and hence the government is yet to take a call on cutting value-added taxes (VAT) on fuel, on the similar lines like the other BJP-ruled states in the region.
“It is a tough call and we are consideration all aspects. The state is facing huge financial crisis at present,” he said.
The Centre slashed petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.50 per litre.
“We need to balance it out. A decision on fuel price cut might be taken at the cabinet meeting in a day or two,” he added.
