Decomposed body of 27-year-old woman found in Meghalaya

Guwahati/Shillong, April 14: In a horrific incident that came to light recently, a decomposed body of a 27-year-old woman has been recovered by the police in the district of East Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya.

As per reports, the decomposed body of the woman was recovered by the police from the area of Thanglaba Lumshnong in the East Jaintia Hills, who has been suspected to be murdered.

The deceased has been identified as Meera Jojo. While Meera hailed from Jharkhand, she was working as a daily wage earner in the area of Thangskai in East Jaintia Hills.

Reportedly, the Dy SP EJH said that police received an information from the locals regarding a dead body that was lying inside a jungle, which was around 20-30 km away from the National Highway.

Police have also confirmed that the face of the dead body has been completely disfigured, and that, the body has been lying there since past two weeks and had started decomposing while becoming food for the moths and other insects.

Meanwhile, police have already informed Meera Jojo’s husband about it, who has identified the dead body.

While a murder case has already been registered with the police in this connection, the postmortem of the dead body has already been conducted, and the police are waiting for the autopsy reports.
