Accepting the peoples’ mandate in the Delhi elections, JP Nadda, who recently took over from Amit Shah as the Bharatiya Janata Party chief, on February 11th, 2020, said that the saffron party will play the role of constructive opposition.
Congratulating Arvind Kejriwal on his thumping victory, Nadda said, “Accepting this mandate, BJP will play the role of constructive opposition and will prominently raise every issue related to the development of the state.”
He also said, “The BJP respects the mandate given by the people of Delhi. All the workers worked tirelessly in this election and have been engaged in elections day and night.”
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said, “We couldn’t perform well. We’ll evaluate this. Sometimes we get discouraged when results are not as per our expectations but I would like to tell our workers to not be disheartened.”
