The deputy national security advisor (NSA) RN Ravi will visit Nagaland to brief the stakeholders on the status of the Naga peace process on February 26th, 2019. While confirming Ravi’s visit to the state, V Horam, member of the steering committee of NSCN (IM) said, “Ravi is visiting the state as per the schedule fixed earlier. He will discuss the issue with the representatives of Naga Civil Societies and Naga Hohos.”

Ravi is visiting the state as the central government’s representative for Naga peace talks. He is expected to hold a series of meetings with stakeholders, legislators, apex tribal bodies and civil society organisations on the status of the peace process.

Ravi had visited the state in May 2015 after taking over charge as the government of India’s representative to Naga peace talks in 2014.

It may be mentioned that Ravi has managed to rope in seven Naga Political Groups (NPGs), apart from NSCN(IM), which was already into talks with the government since 1997 during his tenure as centre’s representative. On August 3rd, 2015, Ravi signed ‘Framework Agreement’ with NSCN (IM) in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Rajnath Singh.
