Dibrugarh Allows Door Delivery Of Chicken, Egg. Check Details

Only door to door selling has been allowed and no shops will be allowed to open

The Dibrugarh district administration has allowed the door to door selling of “live” chicken, eggs and other poultry products from Thursday to prevent people from venturing out in search of meat during the ongoing lockdown due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The administration in a notification stated the door to door selling of live chicken, eggs and other poultry products in the district have been allowed but this will have to be done in a given time. The permitted vendors or sellers will have to carry out with the selling from 6 am to 1 pm.

The administration further added that the sellers will also have to follow all the protocols and guidelines of the lockdown. They will not be allowed to sell dressed meat during the lockdown period.

The administration also added that only door to door selling has been allowed and no shops will be allowed to open for this purpose. The order only states poultry product and not other meat products.

Another source added that with lockdown being imposed since the past 15 days, people have been struggling to get meat products in Guwahati as well and to coupe up with this issue, Kamrup (Metro) district administration might allow the home delivery of chicken and fish within the next two days in Guwahati.

A source said that since the demand for the poultry or meat products has increased among the people and there are several reports that people have been venturing out too long distances in search of meat, the administration is considering the home delivery of meat and fish in Guwahati.

However, this particular step will be taken only after reviewing the current situation of the city.
