Significant reshuffle in the Dibrugarh police for the second time happened following the vandalism incident during Muharram in Dibrugarh on September 11th, 2019. The officer-in-charge of Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station, Pradip Kumar Bora has been transferred to Border Police on September 16th, 2019. The announcement came after five days when incidents of vandalism were reported in the district during Tajia procession on the town streets.

The OC of the Dhemaji Sadar Police Station, Siddheswar Bora has been transferred and posted as the new in-charge of the Dibrugarh PS.

It may be mentioned that the Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Subashini Shankaran was transferred to the 10th Assam Police Battalion (APBn) on September 13th, 2019. Shankaran joined as the SP of Dibrugarh in January this year. Gautam Bora, Commandant of the 10th APBn was transferred and posted as the new SP of the district.

It may be mentioned that incidents of vandalism were reported during Tajia procession in the district on September 11th, 2019, which led to the arrest of two persons. The arrestees were Fulkan Hussain of Mirgabag and Javed Akhtar Khan alias Azad Khan of Panchali.

As per reports, Fulkan was allegedly involved in damaging two private vehicles during Muharram which was observed on September 10th, 2019.
