    Dipsur Police Official Held On Extortion Charges

    The SI has been accused of demanding Rs 50,000 from an SBI official

    In a joint operation conducted by the Guwahati police and the sleuths of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption branch of Assam on September 26th, 2019 arrested a sub-inspector of Dispur Police Station on charges of extortion.

    Based on a complaint registered against SI Rohin Pegu the team launched an operation and caught him red handed. The SI has been accused of demanding Rs 50,000 from an SBI official.

    He is currently under interrogation by the V&AC.
