Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on August 9th, 2019, said the directorial venture of the women directors is a clear indication of the state’s growing talents in film making. The Governor congratulated Rajat Kamal Awardees Rima Das, Manju Borah and Bobby Sarma Baruah on getting Rajat Kamal Awards in the 66th National Film Awards for 2018.

Director Rima Das received Rajat Kamal for her film ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ in the best feature film category in the language specified in the Schedule VIII of the Constitution has been adjudged as the best Assamese Film. Moreover, Manju Borah’s venture fetched the award in ‘The Land of Poison Women’ in the Best Pangchenpa Film and Bobby Sarma Baruah bagged the award in Mishing for the Best Sherdukpan Film in the best feature film in each of the languages other than those specified in Schedule VIII of the Constitution.
