GUWAHATI: The state government of Assam on Thursday asked all the deputy commissioners of the state to expedite disposal of applications for permission for sale and lease of land and registration of apartments.
In a circular issued to all the deputy commissioners of the state on Thursday, Secretary to the government of Assam, Revenue and DM department, Dilip Kumar Das said, “As per section 21-A of the Registration (Assam Amendment) Act, 2009, it is mandatory to dispose of application for NOC for transfer of immoveable property within 30 days from the date of application. This has been further reiterated by the government notifying the service of issuance of NOC for transfer of immoveable property under section 4 of the Assam Right to Public Service Act, 2012 mandating its disposal within 30 days period.”
The circular further said, “Considering the above legal provision and also in view of the suggestion of the advisory committee for the revitalization of the economy of Assam, you are requested to pay personnel attention to the matter and expeditiously dispose of all the pending applications for land sale/lease/apartment registration etc within stipulated time and report compliance.”
According to the circular, dispose of applications for permission for sale and lease of land and registration of apartments was one of the vital suggestions made by the advisory committee for the revitalization of the economy of Assam.
The circular excluded the deputy commissioners of the autonomous council districts.
