Docks clear for greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, January 12: The proposal for the construction of the greenfield airport at Hollongi in Arunachal Pradesh was cleared by the Finance Ministry.

After the proposal was cleared, Chief Minister Pema Khandu stated that the greenfield airport, estimated at a cost of Rs 1,055 crore, will be a state-of-the-art infrastructure which will propel economic development besides improving connectivity for the local population.

Tourism will also see a boost after the airport is constructed, he said.

The Investment Board of the Finance ministry made it clear to the state government that it is responsible to hand over the land free of encumbrances to the Airport Authority of India and set a target to have the airport ready within four years.
