Guwahati: In a major operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday seized huge two briefcases containing illegal gold from the residence of a businessman named Nagen Paul in Guwahati’s Basistha area.
Based on a tip-off, the sleuths of the DRI launched an operation at ‘Basanti Kutir’ residence owned by the Shillong-based businessman and detained two people in connection to the case.
One of the detainees has been identified as Gopal (Driver); however, the identity of the other person has not been ascertained yet.
The DRI also seized a car bearing registration number AS-01- ED-0476 during the operation.
