Guwahati: Continuing its drive against drugs, Karbi Anglong police have arrested two persons from the Lahorijan area and seized a total of 1 kg of heroin from their possession.
According to reports, the two individuals hailed from a neighbouring state of Assam.
Appreciating the move, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his official Twitter handle saying, “Another major achievement of @assampolice in its drive against drugs as @karbianglongpol seizes 1 kg Heroin at Lahorijan. Two accused from a neighbouring state have been apprehended. Highly appreciated! Keep up the excellent work.”
3 Kg of Ganja seized near Paltan Bazar Masjid
In another case, a CGPD team from Paltanbazaar Police Station arrested one Moinul Hoque of Kalgechiya for peddling Ganja near Paltanbazaar Masjid on Thursday.
Around 3 Kg of Ganja was recovered from his possession. Legal action initiated C No 299/2022 u/s 20 (B)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act.
