‘Drunk’ Employee Of Agile Hospital Faces Suspension

Deputy Commissioner Kamrup(Metro), Biswajit Pegu has ordered a probe into the matter

The authorities of the Agile Hospitals Private Limited located in Guwahati’s Khanapara suspended a laboratory technician for allegedly attending duty hours in an inebriated state.

As per reports, a patient named Siteshwar Barua and his son, residents of Biswanath Chariali had visited the hospital for a CT scan. The on-duty technician Joon Das who was found ‘drunk’ allegedly turned off the power while the patient was inside the machine.

The incident had triggered a chaos inside the hospital after the patient’s son started charging Das for his reckless behavior and reported the same to the hospital authorities.

“I came with my father for a CT scan and the technician suddenly turned off the power while the patient was inside the machine. My ailing father was inside the machine for 15 minutes. Later we got to know that he was drunk. This is extremely irresponsible,” said the patient’s son.

“I immediately rushed to the reception, called out for help from the administration but could not find a doctor. I was taken aback. Later we complained the incident to the higher authorities,” the irked son added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kamrup(Metro), Biswajit Pegu has ordered a probe into the matter.
