    Durga Idols Vandalized In Arunachal, 3 Arrested

    The group of miscreants vandalized the idols of Goddess Durga and fled from the spot

    Police on October 6th, 2019 arrested three miscreants on charges of vandalism at Durga Puja pandal in Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh.

    As per reports, the boys who were under the high influence of alcohol broke into the puja mandap at 2 No Doimukh on the intervening night of October 5th and 6th.

    “The group of miscreants vandalized the idols of Goddess Durga and fled from the spot. They escaped in a Tata Tiago car which later helped police to identify and apprehend them,” SP Yupia informed.

    Police have taken the statement of the accused, Nabam Achuma, Nabam Sonam and Tana Changriang and they will be produced before the judicial magistrate. Police have kept hunt on to nab Tam Gumin. As per reports, all the accused are residents of Papum Pare district.

    “The issue should not be communalized. We have organized different fairs and festivals involving all tribes and communities. Such an incident has not happened earlier. The enthusiasm is still the same among the devotees. We have managed small idols to continue the puja,” one of Puja committee members told newsmen.
