    Endangered vultures found dead near Dibru Saikhowa

    In 2019 too, in a similar incident some 37 vultures died in Assam's Sivasagar district after feeding on pesticide-laced cattle carcass

    GUWAHATI: Some 22 vultures belonging to critically endangered species were found dead on Tuesday morning near the Dibru Saikhowa National Park in Tinsukia district.

    Though the reason of the death of the carnivorous birds were yet to be ascertained, it was believed that the birds might have died after consuming the carcasses of two cattle.

    Endangered Forest department officials said that another dozen of vultures were also found in critical condition.

    In 2019 too, in a similar incident some 37 vultures died in Assam’s Sivasagar district after feeding on pesticide-laced cattle carcass.
