Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) leader and Assam social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma welcomed the move of the Bodo rebel outfit National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra (NDFB-S) to join the peace talks with the Centre.
It may be noted, as per media reports, as many as 50 members of the NDFB-S left Myanmar on January 11th, 2020 and entered India to join the talks with the Centre.
Reacting to the media reports, Brahma told Time8, “It is a piece of extremely good news. It’s enough…all the mothers are waiting for their sons to come back home. I too appeal them to come back home and work for the development of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).”
Brahma, however, douched the question when asked if the news is confirmed.
She added, “This move will ensure peace and harmony in the BTC. I want to thank our leader Hagrama Mohilary for always taking the initiative to bring peace in the region. I would appeal the NDFB-S leaders to offer suggestions, cooperate and join us to develop the BTC region.”
