    Family Robbed Of 7 Tola Gold On Dhanteras Eve In Karimganj

    The thieves broke the almirah and fled with gold and cash

    A family was robbed of gold jewelleries and cash on the eve of Dhanteras in Karimganj district of Assam.

    Miscreants broke into the house of one Ajit Das located at Longai road and fled with seven tola gold jewelleries, cash worth Rs 60,000 and other valuables items.

    “We were not at home when the theft took place. The miscreants entered our house from the backside and managed to break the lock of the doors. The thieves broke the almirah and fled with gold and cash,” said Das while speaking to media. A report has been lodged in this regard.

    It may be mentioned that Dhanteras which marks the start of Diwali festivities, is considered an auspicious day to buy gold, silver, and other valuable items.
