Agartala: The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has issued 1 lakh 78 thousand 931 metric tonnes of food grains to Tripura under PMGKAY scheme from April 2020 to October 12, 2021.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) is a government of India pro-poor initiative to support vulnerable population comprised of Antodaya and Priority-Households during COVID-19 pandemic.
In the official twitter handle of FCI, it is informed that Tripura has received 1 lakh 78 thousand 931 metric tonnes of food grains to Tripura under PMGKAY scheme during this COVID-19 pandemic period.
In Phase-I, these households received 37,242 MTs of food grains in between April and June, 2020.
In Phase-II, 58,650 MTs of food grains were received in between July and November, 2020.
In Phase-III, 25,018 MTs of food grains were received from May to June, 2020.
In Phase-IV, 58,021 MTs of food grains will be received by these families from July to November, 2021.
According to the statistics of PMGKAY, there are 4,87,613 ration card holders of Priority Household group and 1,08,592 card holders of Antodaya Anna Yojana in Tripura.
