In the FIR lodged with the city’s Panbazar police, one Tarun Dutta from the city’s Jalukbari area alleged the minister from the health department of violating the same protocols which he has been preaching for a long time owing to the Covid19 outbreak.

“Hazarika has flouted the Disaster Management and Covid19 protocols while participating in a meeting in presence of over lakhs of people at Goibari. It can impact adversely in spreading the pandemic in the state. Therefore, the authority should take stern action against such illegal activities,” complainant Dutta said in his FIR.

On Friday, the minister while attending the meeting with a huge gather had also shared a live feed on his Facebook account. The live feed showed the minister was addressing thousands of people who were not even maintaining any social distancing and many were also seen without masks. Children were also seen attending the poll campaign meeting on Friday.
