Fish To Be Home Delivered In Guwahati

The Kamrup (M) district administration has allowed the door to door delivery of local fish in Guwahati from Friday.

As per a notification from the administration, the FISHFED outled in Rupnagar will be available as a sale point for the residents nearby Rupnagar for purchasing fish but the customers will have to maintain protocol of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown including principle of social distancing issued by the Government.

Rate of selling the fishes will be fixed by the FISHFED and for carrying fishes from different sources, FISHFED will issue passes to maximum 5 vehicles per day.

For people leaving in other parts of the city, only door to door delivery will be allowed and sale of fish in market or roadside point will not be allowed.

The notification further added that only fresh and hygienic fish will be allowed for sale and the delivery persons will use bicycles or carts only during sale of fish. The Department will issue identity cards to them.

Violation of instruction issued on the rate of fish will attract legal action against the delivery persons.

The entire process will be monitored by the team constituted by the Fishery Department and in case of any default in the process, responsibility will be fixed on the officials entrusted with the responsibility of the sale process.
