Guwahati, September 14: Due to unabated rains in the lower regions of Arunachal Pradesh along with the release of water from the Ranganadi dam project by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO), the water level of Ranganadi and its tributaries has increased to a great extent since Wednesday night.
The district administration of Lakhimpur has cautioned the public to refrain from venturing into river for fishing, swimming and other activities to avoid any eventualities.
Further, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) asked the public not to panic.
“People living in the low lying, riverine areas should abide by all the warnings issued by the district administration,” reads the notice.
Subansiri, Ranganadi, Singra, Kakoi rivers in spate.
