    Food allowance of Assam police constables’ likely to be hiked: FM Sarma

    The Assam government has decided to increase the ration allowance for the state’s police constables from the existing Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,000

    GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to increase the ration allowance for the state’s police constables from the existing Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,000.

    Making an announcement on Friday, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the allowance ‘will be of significant help’ to the serving constables.

    Sarma also added that a similar benefit will also likely be extended to the forest police battalion, provided if they yield an application from their side.
