Tinsukia, November 7: For the first time ever, Elephant Safari has been started at Dibru-Saikhowa National Park. It was inaugurated by Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma today.
Evergreen Earth, Saikhowa Wildlife Conservation Department and Hatighuli Environment Committee have jointly started this initiative. Local MLA Balin Chetia was also present on the occasion.
It must be noted that earlier there was no elephant safari facility in Dibru Saikhowa National Park and no proper roads for Jeep Safari, so one could cover the park only by Boat safari and trekking all these days. This new initiative is likely to bring about a major boost to the Park in terms of visitors specially foreign tourists.
