Guwahati: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized foreign cigarettes worth Rs 2 lakh at Guwahati railway station from Rajdhani Express on Monday.

The GRP also arrested one person in connection to the incident.

The arrested person identified as Indrajit Singh is a resident of Manipur.

The cigarettes are believed to be smuggled in from Myanmar.

Around 140 packets of foreign cigarettes were seized by the GRP.

GRP recovered the foreign cigarettes stuffed in shoeboxes.

It is learned that Singh boarded the Rajdhani Express from Dimapur on Monday mid-night.
