    Forest Man Jadav Payeng sings agreement with Fundacion Azteca at Mexico

    The agreement was signed during the Ciudad de las Ideas (CDI) at Puebla City with former Mexian Senator Ninfa Salinas Sada of Grupo Salinas.

    Guwahati: Padmashree Jadav Payeng has signed an agreement with Fundacion Azteca to collaborate on environmental works in Mexico.

    The agreement was signed during the Ciudad de las Ideas (CDI) at Puebla City with former Mexian Senator Ninfa Salinas Sada of Grupo Salinas, in the presence of CDI founder and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Social Change and the Free Flow of knowledge Dr Andres Roemer and naturalist Rituraj Phukan.

    Jadav Payeng was honoured with Padma Shri in 2015, the fourth civilian award in India. Popularly known as the ‘Forest Man of India’, Payeng, over the years, has planted and trees on a sanbar of the river Brahmaputra turning it into Molai forest.
