Rumours are rife that Bhubaneswar Kalita is likely to switch over to the Bharatiya Janata Party

Former Rajya Sabha MP and Congress’ chief whip Bhubaneswar Kalita paid floral tributes to former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj on August 7th, 2019 at her residence in New Delhi.

It may be mentioned that Kalita has resigned from Rajya Sabha and Congress on August 5th, 2019. Rumours are rife that he is likely to switch over to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A few photographs are doing the rounds where Kalita is seen paying floral tributes to Swaraj along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders.

Kalita’s sudden resignation over the Congress’ stand on the scrapping of Article 370 and bifurcation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir has triggered numerous speculations about his next move. Former chief minister Tarun Gogoi on August 6th, 2019 also said that he believes Kalita is joining the saffron party.
