Acting on reliable sources, the Golaghat police have arrested four All Adivasi National Liberation Army(AANLA) cadres along with arms and ammunition.
An ambush was laid on the expected route of the cadres on May 28th, 2019 and following the movement of the trio the ambush party held the four of them. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police, Golaghat, Surajit Singh Paneshwar.
They have been identified as Kamil Dang, Saimon Baag, Raju Bhumiz, Edmond and Toppo. One .32 pistol, 10 live bullets and three mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
As per reports, the four of them were involved in cases of abduction and extortion. They are further charged with several cases of dacoity in the village.
As per information, the gang had taken out a blueprint for the kidnapping of a local trader Deepak Gowalla, residing at a house at Pura Bangla, Numaligarh. However, foiling the kidnapping bid the security forces were able to nab the four of them. They had earlier set a dacoity trap near a tea estate and managed to flee from the spot.
Meanwhile, a strict vigil has been maintained with regular patrolling across the district to avert any subversive activities.
