The Fourth North East Democratic Alliance(NEDA) Conclave is underway at the Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium in Guwahati.

The meeting which was scheduled to take place at 10:30 am, started with the lighting of the lamp by Amit Shah and other distinguished guests along with a felicitation programme.

“We lighted the Deep which will surely brighten up the 8 North Eastern states in a way that never happened before,” the blue ticked Twitter handle of the NEDA wrote in its page.

Chaired by the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) supremo and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the meeting is attended by the Chief Ministers of the eight Northeastern states. Apart from them, top heads of NEDA, ministers and chairpersons of various corporations of Assam have also taken part in the conclave.

“Amit Shah ji has been painstakingly guiding us towards realizing a cherished vision and glorious future for the North East. We owe him a great deal for having been a guiding light,” Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said addressing the crowd.

As per reports, issues pertaining to the strengthening of the NEDA will be discussed in the meeting. Being Shah’s first visit after the publication of the final National Register of Citizens(NRC) list, issues related to the citizenship list are likely to be discussed in the conclave.
