    Gang including former GNLA cadre arrested for Abduction

    The arrested persons have been forwarded to judicial custody

    Guwahati: A seven-member gang along with former Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) member were arrested by the Meghalaya Police for allegedly being involved in the abduction of a person.

    The accused persons had allegedly abducted an owner of a pickup truck West Garo Hills district and released him on June 24 after they had got their demanded ransom.

    As per reports the abducted person was abducted on June 23 and was released on June 24. Following this, the police started an operation to nab the accused persons involved in the abduction.

    The police during the operation succeeded in arrested all the seven accused of the case and seized a cache of arms and ammunition as well.

    The police seized a carbine, three Chinese-made pistols, four magazines, two live grenades, live ammunition, two mobile phones, along with cash.

    All of them are currently in judicial custody.

    They have been identified as Probitdro A Sangma, Dipit Ch. Marak, Pillington Ch Marak, Dunia K Sangma, Prewin R Sangma, Rakseng Ch. Marak and Bandi Ch Sangma.
