Guwahati: 10 November The Assam State Zoo proudly announces their new initiative towards healthy living, by introducing cycling for visitors inside the Zoo.
While speaking to Time8, DFO Tejas Mariswamy said that the main focus behind this step is health factor. Since cycling is indeed a good exercise, we would like to uplift the spirits of all cyclists to ride through the lush green view of the Zoo and enjoy it in a better way.
“We want to bring the cycling culture to Guwahati as it is a fun physical activity. Our overall motive is to enlighten the residents and help them to take an interest in this environment-friendly approach. “ He added.
This major proposal will be launched by our Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on 11th November at 10 am. From tomorrow visitors can bring their cycles and pay an entry fee of Rs. 30 or hire cycles at the Zoo for the same price.
The beautiful Assam State Zoo came into existence in the year 1957 and is spread across 175 hectares, which includes a magnificent botanical garden. It is a home to 113 species of animals and birds.
Off late, the zoo has started to embrace latest systems as it has recently introduced E-ticketing procedure for the convenience of the visitors.
This excellent move has been appreciated by the founders of the Guwahati Cycle Tour group, who are excitingly waiting to enjoy the experience of cycling on the vast terrain of the Zoo.
