Guwahati: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi took a comprehensive review of the law and order situation with special emphasis on security aspects in the backdrop of prevailing COVID 19 pandemic in the state.
A high-level meeting was held on a virtual platform with all the senior officers of the security agencies in Raj Bhavan.
The Governor said that there must be coordinated efforts from all security agencies to have constant surveillance to avert any subversive activities, especially during the COVID situation.
He said that after prolonged problems, the state is experiencing peace at the moment. Therefore, all security agencies must work in a coordinated manner to thwart any evil design of any vested groups who may be hell-bent to derail the peace process.
Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Special DGP Border Mukesh Agarwal, Additional Director General of Police(Security) Harmeet Singh, Additional Director General of Police(SB) Hiren Nath, Principal Secretary Home and Political Neeraj Verma, GOC IV Corps Tezpur Lt. Gen Ravin Khosla, GOC III Corps, Dimapur, Commissioner and Secretary, Border G.D.Tripathy, Joint Director SIB Rashmi Sinha, Additional Director General of Police(CRPF), IGP, BSF, IGP,SSB along with other senior officers were present during the virtual meeting.
