Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati on Thursday issued an advisory and urged passengers to reach the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure to beat the holiday rush in view of the upcoming festive season.
The facility expects an increase in passenger volume, which is likely to continue to grow as the holiday season approaches.
According to Guwahati Airport in the advisory, “We urge all of our passengers transiting through the airport to allow more time for necessary security protocols and formalities associated to travel.
Passengers flying via our airport, both domestically and internationally, are recommended to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight, officially added.
The official further added that due to the increased VIP and passenger movement, often there is congestion on roads and traffic is diverted. To avoid delays caused by that, please reach the airport well in advance.
However, the passengers have been posting pictures and videos of long queues and crowding at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai over the last two weeks, prompting authorities to take note and tell airlines and airport operators to ease the congestion.
