Guwahati: In a peculiar incident, the city police on Tuesday arrested a burglar who made Khichdi while he was burgling a house.

According to police sources, the man went inside the kitchen and started to prepare Khichdi for himself while he attempted theft for valuable items.

The incident was reported at the Hengerabari area in Guwahati’s Dispur.

Interestingly, when the man who was attempting the theft started making Khichdi inside the kitchen locals alerted the police and he was caught.

Meanwhile, Assam police taking to Twitter handle shared a witty tweet saying, “The curious case of a cereal burglar! Despite its many health benefits, turns out, cooking Khichdi during a burglary attempt can be injurious to your well being. The burglar has been arrested and @GuwahatiPol  is serving him some hot meals,”

The tweet was shared on January 11 and it instantly went viral with 344 likes and more than 100 re-tweets.
