Guwahati: In a macabre incident, a birthday party in Guwahati’s Lachit Nagar area turned bloody after a youth was brutally injured in a dagger attack.

The incident was reported at Silver Inn Guest House in Lachit Nagar.

The injured youth identified as Ratul Barman suffered multiple injuries on his head, neck and chest.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital under critical condition.

The culprit behind the incident has not yet been identified; however, the city police have launched an investigation in connection to the case.

Meanwhile, an unidentified body of a man was recovered near the Noonmati Cabin Chowk area in Guwahati.

The Noonmati police and Government Railway Police (GRP) had reached the spot and started an investigation into the case.

As per the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the person might have died after falling off a train.

But, there is no conclusive evidence to support this claim.

The body of the person was sent for post-mortem.
